“Given the strong demand on this route, we’re upgrading to a Boeing 777 aircraft, which has more capacity and allows us to offer a greater level of comfort with full flat seats in business class and in-flight entertainment at every seat,” said Margaret Copeland, Delta’s sales manager for South Africa.
Delta, which also operates three weekly services from Cape Town, is the only U.S. airline to link Africa and the United States. By June 2009 it will operate from nine cities in seven African countries: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Lagos, Abuja, Nairobi, Dakar, Monrovia, Cairo and Accra.
