CSI: Helping to Feed SA’s Hungry

Recent Gauteng Business News

The team at human.kind Advertising are as passionate about doing good as they are about their trade and their fervour extends to their immediate community and the greater world around them. One of the agency’s most recent displays of good citizenship was participation in a feeding programme spearheaded by Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa (SHN SA), an organisation whose vision is to end world hunger in our lifetime, by providing food to the country’s destitute and hungry. The feeding programme works with under-resourced Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres and aims to provide one nutritional meal, per learner, per day.

Hundreds of Volunteers Gear Up to Feed Thousands

The key to the success of the programme is a series of food packaging events held countrywide, where volunteers get together to box-up meals. human.kind staff got behind the campaign and managed to pack an impressive 10 800 meals. These meals will feed 82 children for six months. A combination of rice, soya, dehydrated vegetable mix, and a fortification pack of 21 essential minerals and vitamins, the boxed meals are specifically formulated to combat malnutrition.

human.kind Loving the Challenge

human.kind Advertising Managing Director, Deon Kruger, said: “This has been an exceptionally rewarding team building exercise for our agency and it has served to foster greater awareness of the challenges endured by the hungry. At human.kind we recognise that everything we do has an impact on the planet, and we are committed to become more accountable citizens, as individuals and as an organisation.”
