Le Corbusier Furniture

Recent Company News

It is something that interior designers have known for years. Le Corbusier furniture is a great way to add both form and function to the interior of a home or office. Unfortunately, too many people centre their rooms around large bulky furnishings. Loud patterns and designs disrupt the space, creating a setting of chaos instead of harmony.

By Amy M. Miller

A room designed around Le Corbusier chairs and sofas opens a room up, creating a sense of peace. Because the furniture is designed with a modern approach in mind, this design line can completely transform a room. By adding clean lines and sense of simplicity, the room becomes very open, sleek and inviting.

Before he began designing furniture, Le Corbusier was primarily an architect. His style focused mainly on a modernistic approach. Out of necessity, as his career advance, he began to design furniture. He needed to create furnishings that reflected the open, clean spaces he was creating. As the old saying goes, "Necessity is the mother of invention." and so were his furniture created.

Today many manufacturers try to emulate his designs. Reproductions of his works can be found at low prices from many furniture retailers and online stores. Because it is modelled after the designs of a true artist, a Le Corbusier chair or a sofa is more than just a piece of furniture; it is a work of art. With a focus on modernistic structures, these fixtures are great ways to turn any room into a receptive and harmonious setting.

It is not hard to spot a Le Corbusier styled piece of furniture. A couch, chair, or chaise lounge is generally accented with metallic piping; while the clean lines, solid patterns, and linear shapes work together seamlessly, complementing one another. In fact, even though it may seem simple on the surface, a quick glimpse of a piece of the furniture is enough to make a person stop in awe, and admire the beauty of it.

So if you want more than just another piece of furniture, you should consider shopping for a piece that is style in the fashion of Le Corbusier. It may take some shopping around, but these pieces are well worth the effort. When it comes to combining form and function, there is nothing better. By adding one these to your living space, you are creating more than just interior design, you are creating a masterpiece.
