The Eastgate Shopping Centre is currently undergoing considerable construction work as the centre progresses through its refurbishment and international brands and some really big new offerings are on the cards...
Exciting new offerings at Eastgate"We're excited to be welcoming several international brands into our centre over the next 18 months or so, including Zara, Top Shop, Top Man and River Island. These clothing and fashion brands are in high demand around the globe and will be a fantastic addition to our tenant mix," said Alex Phakathi, Fund Manager of Stanlib.
"In addition to fashion, we are bolstering our entertainment options by bringing in an Imax theatre and extending our cinema offering by introducing the luxurious Cine Prestige cinemas. Children will be thrilled by the experience offered from UK-based toy store Hamleys."
Current popular retailers Woolworths, Edgars and Foschini will enlarge their stores to accommodate even more international brands, and Jet will also be expanding its store. Woolworths will introduce mono-branded Witchery and Trenery stores near Entrance 2. Similarly, Stuttafords will be introducing several mono-branded stores, including Ted Baker, Tommy Hilfiger and a Stuttafords Cosmetics Emporium.
"To cater for all of these exciting additions, we have extended the Northern parkades by an additional two levels, adding 1,300 secure parking bays. We will also be improving accessibility into the centre by adding a new entrance into the mall near Stuttafords," he said.
"With any major construction works or redevelopment project, there will be some elevated noise and inconvenience around the centre, but we ask for patience from our loyal shoppers as we develop what we know will be one of the premier shopping destinations not only in South Africa, but in Africa."
This phase of development is projected to be completed towards the end of 2016, which incorporates construction works and the modernisation of significant sections of the centre's external façade.
