EXPO: The City Of Johannesburg is Back at the Rand Show

The City of Johannesburg has over the past years taken part in the Rand
Show at the MTN Expo Centre - Nasrec. This year once again the City will
be participating at the expo which starts from the 22 April to 2 May
2011 and has lined up a lot of exciting information sharing sessions
regarding achieved service delivery successes.
The City of Johannesburg residents and visitors are invited to join City
officials in Hall 6. The following City department and municipal owned
entities (MOEs) officials will be represented at the show:
- EMS
- Joburg Water
- Pikitup
- Transportation department and Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA)
- City Parks
- City Power
- Department of Environment
- Johannesburg Zoo
- Joburg Tourism
- JOSCHO
- Metrobus
- Joburg Market
Each day there will be a 2 hourly educational sessions featuring:
- Greening
- Recycling
- Road safety
- Vehicle and pedestrian safety
- Maintaining a healthy lifestyle
- Energy and water saving tips
On site displays to thrill you:
- Recycling station
- Mobile BESAFE centre
- K9 unit
To create excitement there will be fantastic prizes to giveaway such as:
- Trees to plant at home
- Goodie bags for kids
- CoJ branded merchandise
The City of Johannesburg uses such marketing platforms as an opportunity
to creatively and effectively to highlight and showcase the City’s
service delivery achievements, attributes and the opportunities it
offers while at the same time positively influencing stakeholder
perceptions about CoJ locally, nationally, across the continent and
internationally. This is one of the exhibitions that offer a platform
for engaging with local, national and continental visitors. This year is
no different, the City plans to have a bigger, more interactive,
entertaining and informative exhibition ever.
The City and its participating departments and MOEs will use the Rand
Show as a platform to showcase service delivery successes, projects and
campaigns that have successfully made a difference to the City’s
customers and have enhanced service delivery levels.
At the 2011 Rand Show the City will showcase what the MOEs has achieved
over the past 10 years, making Joburg a world class African city.
On site, for instance, there will be facilities that will enable
visitors to log and address water related customer service issues, JMPD
vehicle fines verification, street address verification to name a few.
The exhibition opens daily from 10:00 to 19:00. Please come with your
kids to meet the City’s official mascots from JRA, Joburg Market and
EMS.
