Medium Sized Developers and Contractors for projects of a maximum of 350 houses at a time.
Successful Developers/Contractors who pre-qualify will be placed on the Departmental roster and be considered for the execution of low cost housing projects in the Gauteng Province. Developers and Contractors who applied in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 are requested not to apply as they already exist in the database.
Pre-qualification requirements to be attached on the documents are as follows:
Registration with CIDB.
Registration with NHBRC.
SABS certification for alternative technology.
Valid Tax Clearance & VAT registration.
Company registration certification.
Company Profile including experience in low cost housing projects and various civil works.
Adherence to the BEE Codes of good practices particularly Statement 001: Fronting Practices & Misrepresentations.
Women, youth and the disabled are encouraged to apply.
Pre-qualification documents can be obtained from the Supply Chain Management Section, 7th Floor, Department of Local
Government and Housing Building, 37 Sauer Street, Marshalltown, Johannesburg, between 09:00 and 15:00 from 12 July 2010.
Completed pre-qualification documents in original format clearly marked with the relevant reference number and placed in a sealed envelope must be deposited in the tender box on the Ground Floor Foyer at the Department of Local Government and Housing Building, 37 Sauer Street, Marshalltown, Johannesburg, not later than 11:00 am on Friday, 6 August 2010. Faxed, electronic or late submissions will not be accepted.
A compulsory briefing session will be held on the 13 July 2010 at 11h00, at the foyer between the Bank of Lisbon Building and the Customer Support Centre37 Sauer Street. Developers/Contractors who do not complete the attendance register during this time will not be allowed to participate in the pre-qualification process.
Only companies who have submitted all of the above information will be considered for the next evaluation process. The Department of Local Government and Housing is under no obligation to give reasons for non-acceptance/rejection of any submission.
