Supply of Corrective and Preventive Hardware and Software Maintenance on the Metrorail Fare Collection Systems

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) invites tenders for the supply of corrective and preventive hardware and software maintenance on the Metrorail Fare Collection Systems.

You are hereby invited to indicate your willingness to participate in this project by submission of priced tenders in support of your appointment.

PRASA prefers to award contracts for goods and/or services to suppliers that have at least Level Four B-BBEE Procurement Recognition and have scored at least 10 points on the equity ownership component (except SOEs). Suppliers are required to submit a valid BEE verification certificate from one of the SANAS certified verification agencies. PRASA is not obliged to accept the lowest or any tender.

All tenderers will be evaluated for financial viability, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment and technical capacity and ability, as described in the RFT documents and will also be subjected to security screening.

A compulsory briefing session will be conducted at Metrorail Head Office, 12th Floor Boardroom, 66 Jorissen Street, Jorlssen Place, Braamfontein on Friday, 19 February 2010 at 10:00.

RFT documents may be collected from Nkululeko Kumalo on the 8th Floor, Metrorail Head Office, 66 Jorissen Street, Jorissen Place, Braamfontein, Johannesburg as from 16 to 18 February 2010 between 09:00 and 16:00 on proof of payment of an amount of R1000.00 (VAT included) per set which is not refundable. (No cash or cheques will be accepted).

Clearly indicate the Tender Number on the Deposit Slip as reference.

NB: PRASA will not allow tenderers who are not in possession of a valid tender document at the briefing.

Sealed tenders must be deposited during office hours between 08:00 and 15:00 in the Tender Depositing Box located in the Lift Foyer of the Metrorail Head Offices, 8th Floor, Jorissen Place, 66 Jorissen Street, Braamfontein in Gauteng.

The closing date is 12 March 2010 at 10:00. NB: Late tenders will be rejected.
