The SABC is in the process of procuring twenty four (24) Digital Video Cassette/Tape machines to replace "its current video tape (VT) recorder/players used for ingest and in the FCCs (Final Control Centres) for the playback of archive tapes mainly in Betacam SP format. The machines should be state-of-the-art digital VT machines that are both backwards compatible in terms of archive content whilst at the same time being capable of playing back current digital formats in use.
