Business Management 1

Recent Company News

As we progress throughout the academic year, EasyPass will highlight some of the more important concepts from the chapters/modules in the current prescribed text book for courses such as MNB 101D and MNB 102E, amongst others.

The next module that we will focus on is:

Chapter 16 – Public relations

Some of the more important concepts you need to understand from this chapter/module are:

- the definition of public relations

- the management of public relations

- the communication programme

- and social responsibility and business ethics

In this Blog, EasyPass would like to highlight – the communication programme and in particular the use of publicity.

The primary task of the PR manager is to develop and maintain a positive corporate image of the business with all publics, i.e. your staff, customers, suppliers, the government, the local community etc. Publicity is considered as the free exposure of your business and its products and services by the media. The PR manager’s job is made considerably easier if the business has a triple bottom line approach, i.e. they are focused on profits but also the planet and people. If your business is making an acceptable profit and at the same time not damaging the environment and giving back to the community then it will be much easier for the PR manager to gain favourable publicity for the business.
