Premier League Odds This Season – Winners and Losers in the Premiership: Manchester City Pipped Liverpool to the Title in the 2018/19 Season, Making It Two in a Row for Pep Guardiola.

Recent Gauteng Business News

Manchester City pipped Liverpool to the title in the 2018/19 season, making it two in a row for Pep Guardiola. Only a single point separated City and second-placed Liverpool, but the gap between the two top teams and third-placed Chelsea was 25 points. At the start of the 2019/20 season, Manchester City were the favorites to win the EPL at 8/13 with Betway, with Liverpool coming second at 4/1. After 25 rounds, the odds have changed.

Liverpool are currently leading the pack with 73 points after 25 matches, leading second placed City by 22 points. Betting fans of the Betway English Premier League bets have already tipped the reds to win it this season, currently standing at 1/100. Jurgen Klopp’s men have dropped only two points since the beginning of the season, drawing with Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October.

They have gone on to win all their matches to open an assailable lead, prompting City boss Pep Guardiola to concede the title. Liverpool have scored 60 goals, conceding a paltry 15, which is the lowest in the top 3 divisions in England.

Manchester City will be fancied to take the second spot, and are currently leading Leicester in third by 3 points. Chelsea lie 10 points adrift, with the chasing pack of Sheffield United, Spurs, Everton, Manchester United, and Wolves separated by 4 points.

Battle for top 4

This season promises to be one of the most competitive seasons in terms of champions league slots. As it stands, Betway has odds slashed for Chelsea to make it ahead of Tottenham and Manchester United. Sheffield United have had a decent showing in the league, but they remain outsiders according to bookmakers. They will be expected to compete for the UEFA places alongside Spurs and United, but if Wolves can replicate the finishing power they showed at the end of last season, then you can bet on them to upset one of the traditional top guns.

Arsenal have long lost the battle for top 4, and they will be hoping new boss Mikel Arteta can marshal a late assault for a possible Europa finish. It is possible, but a big ask.

Relegation candidates

Norwich are the bookies favorite to face the chop first. They currently sit 6 points below 19th placed Watford, and their next assignment is against the relentless Liverpool at home. Interestingly, the gap between 10th placed Arsenal and 19th placed Watford is 7 points, the lowest at this point in the recent history.

Watford have been playing well, and they may not be the second favorites to drop. Bournemouth and Aston Villa have flirted with relegation for some time, and West Ham are finding themselves occupying one of the relegation spots.

So far it is anyone’s game, and the next 3 rounds of matches should give us a clearer picture of what to expect going forward. With only 3 points separating 15th placed Bournemouth and 19th place, we are heading for a grueling finish to the 2019/20 season.
