EXPO: Galix Event Highlights Importance Of Vulnerability Management for Effective Threat Prevention
Recent Gauteng Business News
THREAT intelligence and effectively managing vulnerabilities in today’s complex cyber security landscape is crucial for South African businesses. As a result, Galix, alongside distribution partner, Netxactics, will be hosting an event providing their insights on this subject. They will also unpack technology from the IT security and vulnerability product vendor, Rapid7, that solve these challenges.
The event will take place on the 20th September 2017 at the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa in Johannesburg. The programme is geared towards IT and Data Security conscious individuals, from CIOs and DPOs to system administrators.
Simeon Tassev, MD and QSA at Galix, says, “New cyber threats emerge on a daily basis, and in order for businesses to protect themselves, they need to understand potential vulnerabilities both within their organisation and throughout the IT landscape as a whole. This event seeks to enlighten people about where these vulnerabilities lie and how to prioritise and manage them proactively.”
Netxactics will highlight the benefits that Rapid7 vulnerability management and threat prevention software tools add to any organisation’s cyber security strategy. Solutions, such as Rapid7’s insightVM (formerly known as Nexpose), enable Galix to proactively monitor and prioritise vulnerabilities while suggesting the best possible methods of recourse to protect against threats. Galix in conjunction with Netxactics would like to show organisations how these tools can help them do the same.
The event kicks off with a lunch, followed by three sessions. These will cover the cyber security landscape and threat intelligence, an overview of Rapid7’s key security solutions delivered by Netxactics, and the benefits of vulnerability assessments within organisations.
“Vulnerability management and threat prevention is not a once off exercise,” says Tassev. “It is an ongoing process which needs to be backed by a continuously updated and active strategy. There are a number of security tools available which can help to identify threats and vulnerabilities. Having access to a proactive software solution can help organisations choose the right technologies to combat threats, while ensuring their cyber security strategy remains current and effective.”
