With the awards, CEO Communication recognises that there are many women across South Africa who are helping to transform South Africa's social, economic and political landscape.

Through a public nomination process, and in conjunction with industry bodies and an expert panel of judges (including Judge Willem Heath and Tina Thomson of Epiphany Leadership), we identified the most influential women within the various business sectors of the South African economy, and profiled them in the MIW publication. Please see the attached document for the complete list of remarkable finalists.

Previous winners of the MIW awards include Wendy Ackerman, Zarina Bassa, Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, Dr Olive Shisana, Pam Golding, Prof. Elain Vlok and Gail Curtis.

Sponsors of this year's events were Wits Business School, Anique Skincare, Jaguar, merSETA and Jenna Clifford.

The event, which will be hosted by programme director, Joann Strauss, was preceded by a breakfast. Interactive panel discussions took place between Yolanda Cuba, CEO of Mvelaphanda and Dr. Sebiletso Mokone-Matabane of Sentech (Gauteng), Ntsiki Biyela and Susanne Stelzner (Cape Town) and Prof.. Rosh Maharaj and Jo-Ann Strauss. CNBC Africa was the broadcasting partner of the events.
