s South Africa faces a number challenges, including the effects of a worldwide economic recession, Clarkson believes the prudent fiscal policies adopted by government in the past and increased spending in public infrastructure and power – two of Siemens main areas of competence, will ensure that the local operation continues to perform well. “Given our extensive expertise and track record in supporting the South African government and the private sector in the fields of energy, industry, healthcare as well as information and communication technologies, I look forward to expanding our role and enhancing our contribution to the growth and development of the South African economy,” he says.
