Travel: Tourvest Duty Free Awarded Air Mauritius Contract
Recent Gauteng Business News
Air Mauritius operates regional and international services to over 20 destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Its main base is Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, the bonded warehouse for which will be used by TDF to manage the account.
TDF chief executive officer Selwyn Grimsley said he believed the company won the closed tender process thanks to the quality of its crew training, motivation and incentives; its flight reconciliation system which allows for detailed real time reporting; its high quality merchandise selection and the procurement process involved; marketing initiatives such as its online duty free store; and, not least, its impeccable service standards.
“TDF’s success in managing in-flight duty free concessions is underwritten by a philosophy based on partnership, technology, integration, innovation and world-class practices,” says Grimsley. “This focus on service standards and world-class processes ensure that the commercial benefits to our partners continue to be significant,” he says.
Manoj R K Ujoodha, G.O.S.K., chief executive officer of Air Mauritius said that the contract for duty free sales was awarded to TDF after a tender process – the airline having decided to outsource this activity to professionals in the field. “We are delighted to be working with TDF and take this activity to new heights. The new arrangements will provide our customers with an enhanced product offering and more choices.”
