I-Slices Manufacturing, which developed the eyeSlices® range of eye masks, has received an investment of R5 million from the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). I-Slices Manufacturing is now firmly on the road to international success with its flagship product continuing to make in-roads into new markets such as Iceland. EyeSlices® will now be available in 76 Iceland Air duty-free stores and in-flight catalogues from January 2014.
Canadian investors previously offered eyeSlices® C$250 000 in venture capital, but it declined the offer and chose to take a local partner on board instead, so as to expand the business, increase production and invest in new technology.
The range of eye masks is available in North America, as well as further afield in Europe, Scandinavia, Australia and the Middle East.
