ADVERTISING: Net#work Looking Forward to Another Epic Year

Net#work BBDO is extending its lengthy winning streak, confirming that the Johannesburg-based agencyÂ’s ongoing success is no flash in the pan.

Fresh from its multiple triumphs in 2011 – during which it snagged its 16th Loeries Grand Prix in 17th years of competing, and was named best medium-sized agency, as well as winning its third Cannes Lion Grand Prix in just five years – Net#work BBDO now has even more to celebrate.

In the recently released 33rd Loeries Annual, which sets out the official rankings for the local advertising industry, Net#work BBDOÂ’s Rob McLennan was named number one executive creative director. In addition, Net#work BBDO was hailed as one of the top ranked creative agencies in South Africa.

In other individual rankings, Net#work BBDOÂ’s Tanja Rae was singled out as the countryÂ’s per-eminent agency producer, with the First#Left Studio, which she heads up, being named the best recording studio. Furthermore, David Law was ranked tops for music and sound composition.

Net#work Displays Their Creative Fire Power


Other notable top 10 accolades went to Greig Watt (agency art director), Jenny Glover and Brent Singer (creative directors), Graeme Jenner (creative director), Natalie Sutton (producer), and Glover and Singer again (ranked respectively in the writer category).

Multi-talented Warwick Rautenbach made the grade in no fewer than three categories (agency art director, art director/stylist designer).

Remarking on the agency success, Net#work BBDO Group MD Boniswa Pezisa stressed that “these top rankings demonstrate how our creative fire-power is deployed to continuously tackle marketing challenges. We have an incredibly strong team of talented individuals who have combined as a remarkable team that made 2011 a winning year. ”

Net#work Set for Another Memorable Year

Net#work BBDO were recently rewarded for their creativity at the Creative Circle Advertising of the Year Awards, winning Ad of the Year in the Radio category for their ‘Mercedes-Benz – Safety Features Love, Bud, Toby’ radio campaign. In addition, Net#work BBDO client, Mercedes-Benz was also voted as the number two brand in South Africa. Over the past 17 years Net#work BBDO have won 10 Creative Circle Ad of the Year awards in various categories (Magazine, Outdoor, Newspaper, Television and Radio)

And 2012 looks set to be yet another mighty memorable year for the agency. McLennan – one of the most highly regarded creative minds in the industry – has been asked by the Cannes Lions to head up this year’s Radio Lions Jury, on the back of Net#work’s spectacular international win at Cannes last year with its innovative Mercedes-Benz radio spots.

In addition to this honour, McLennan will also form part of the global line-up of judges for the 50th edition of LondonÂ’s D and AD Awards later in the year.
