INFOTECH: Altech ISIS and Cognity Form Strategic Partnership

Recent Gauteng Business News

Local specialist in IT services and solution providers, Altech ISIS, has embarked on a strategic partnership with Cognity SA to augment the high-end Oracle, Siebel CRM, Order and Service Management (OSM) and Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) skills already available to the South African and wider African market.

The agreement creates a service partnership whereby Altech ISIS supplements its local skills and resources and local presence in South Africa with experienced professionals that have implemented similar projects elsewhere in the world. It also ensures that the growing local market has access to additional high-end skills and by increasing the amount of expert knowledge already available that is transferred to local account managers. The key is to be able to maintain the high standard of local support and account management at a price suited to the African market.

According to Altech ISIS general manager Anton van Heerden, Cognity and Altech ISIS are working on an Oracle OSM 7.0 implementation project at a high profile South African enterprise.

“This project is the one of the first Oracle OSM 7.0 implementations in Africa and Cognity brings a successful track record of similar implementations throughout the world, so we are extremely confident of the success of this project,” he says.

The Benefits of Altech ISIS

“The Oracle OSM process dramatically streamlines the order creation to fulfilment process and ultimately the service provision and customer lifecycle management. This means that Altech ISIS’s customers benefit by having a simplified and standardised internal process, even across different international operating companies."

Van Heerden says the processes that are used in other parts of the globe are utilised here in Africa, creating an economy of scale, whilst ensuring that we adhere to the latest international best practice procedures. “The consequence for the end customer is that they benefit from the same high service standard irrespective of where they are in the world. Their service is seamless and efficient and that drastically improves the overall customer experience.”

Cognity’s overall experience in Order Management, SOA and CRM in vast, mobile, fixed and convergent operators in Europe, as well as their commitment to the industry’s best-practices and guidelines, ensures an already tested, standardised and future-proof approach to all engagements.

“Altech ISIS is extremely pleased to be able to work with a partner of Cognity’s calibre and to be able to bring much sought after Oracle and Siebel skills to South African businesses. Combining their expertise with Altech ISIS’s local knowledge and support enables us to offer a fully rounded offering that cannot be matched elsewhere in the market,” he says.

Altech is the Ideal Business Partner

Cognity’s investment in a strategic partnership with Altech ISIS is a realisation of the importance of providing expert consulting services and comprehensive solutions in a challenging and rapidly evolving South African and wider African business environment.

Cognity SA managing director Theodore Sabanis says the South African market and, indeed, the rest of Africa, is of huge importance to Cognity. “This is a natural extension of our reach outside Europe and part of our company’s overall strategy and vision. Altech ISIS is an ideal partner, particularly in light of its local positioning in key accounts, its knowledge and capabilities.”

“Cognity is excited to work with Altech ISIS in the local market as we see them as a partner that is active in key customers with strategic, value-driven project implementations. We have undertaken similar projects throughout Europe and are excited to bring our track record of success in Oracle and Siebel deployments to South Africa with Altech ISIS.”
