NETGroup, a market leader in transmission and distribution for utilities and industries in Southern Africa, will be merging its business operations with Aurecon as of 1 March 2012.
“This integration mirrors continued efforts to increase the skills base and capacity within our organisation,” comments Albert Geldenhuys, Aurecon’s General Manager, RSA.
The History of NETGroup
Founded in 1987, NETGroup currently employs a multi-skilled work force of more than 260 people comprising engineers, business consultants, process analysts and information systems specialists. “There is an excellent culture, vision and value system alignment between our two companies,” comments Ferdi Nell, CEO of NETGroup. He goes on to say that “The merger will unite two market leaders who will, together, be uniquely positioned to provide their energy clients with an even further enhanced comprehensive set of solutions.”
Merger Could Foresee Huge Benefits for Clients
Both companies believe that huge synergies can be unlocked through the merger, resulting in significant benefits for their clients:
• The merger will increase Aurecon’s ability to serve their large corporate clients in the transmission and distribution markets in RSA’s major centers.
• The energy market of Aurecon’s operations will be greatly strengthened
by a wider offering of multidisciplinary services, for which Aurecon is renowned.
• The merger will allow NETGroup to leverage Aurecon’s global footprint, thereby enabling a better service to NETGroup clients.
“Aurecon will continue to deliver innovative, high-quality services to our clients through adhering to the established success our existing solutions have achieved, and simultaneously exploring opportunities to provide clients with additional value in new areas. Added to this, we believe this strategic merger with NETGroup will further enable us to achieve our vision to be: Leading. Vibrant. Global.,” concludes Geldenhuys.
