MINING: Ludowici Meshcape to Consolidate
Recent Gauteng Business News
Ludowici Meshcape managing director David Sibley points out that 2011 has been a record year for the company in terms of revenue and budget, despite a challenging economic climate. “Ludowici Meshcape has achieved a major growth in revenue for 2011 in a volatile market, and I believe that this success can be attributed to the fact that the newly-established venture has significantly boosted its market expertise and production capabilities as a result of the acquisition between two market-leading organisations.”
Team Member Integration Key to Ludowici Meshcape Success
What’s more, Sibley adds that the successful integration between the team members from both companies has also played a major role in the success of Ludowici Meshcape. “The transition has proven to be an overwhelming success and the combination of our new team’s collective skills, knowledge and expertise creates unlimited potential for Ludowici Meshcape to expand its footprint across existing markets, while penetrating new and exciting markets across Africa.”
In order to build on its current successes, Sibley highlights the fact that Ludowici Meshcape plans to manufacture the majority of its processing equipment in-house at the company’s manufacturing facility in Edenvale by mid 2012.
“Manufacturing in-house will bring numerous advantages, including reduced overhead costs and quicker turnaround times. When we begin local manufacture, we will improve the reliability of service and control over quality, while creating shorter lead times. This will enable us to absorb more of the market fluctuations and gain a general advantage over our competitors,” he continues.
Sibley adds that Ludowici Meshcape will benefit the African markets by being able to provide process equipment in its entirety, without having to rely on other suppliers, while supplying superior-designed and engineered products at competitive prices. “This will provide better process value-for-money for clients, in addition to providing increased support to local manufacturers.”
Ludowici Meshcape Could See Considerable Growth
Despite the unpredictable outlook for the global economy, Sibley is confident of the prospect of substantial growth for Ludowici Meshcape in the short-term. “The Eurozone crisis and concerns of a second global recession are causing a negative impact on industrial markets, and that is proving to be a challenge for all businesses operating in the industry.”
Ludowici Meshcape has; however, been able to largely weather the storm and has in fact experienced growth during a time where most competitors are struggling, adds Sibley. “We see Africa as an area of phenomenal growth, with South Africa as the gateway to the rest of the continent, and Ludowici Meshcape is now in the perfect position to add value to our local stakeholders, customers and employees, through the delivery of excellence in design, engineering and resulting products and service,” he concludes.
