Sandton City Provides the Basics
“Personal hygiene is very important when it comes to building healthy esteem levels,” says Sharon Swain, Centre Manager at Sandton City. “The children in these homes often do not have access to basic toiletries and we hope that this donation will go a long way in building their confidence levels and measurement of self-worth.”
The toiletry packs included a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, roll-on and a tub of Vaseline.
“Children by nature are curious and explore their surroundings vigorously, often encountering a host of germs that could encourage ill health,” notes Swain. “Our hopes are that the children can now enjoy discovering their environment whilst maintaining healthy personal hygiene levels.”
