The popular programme airs on SS1 at 8.30pm every Monday evening and is repeated in various timeslots later in the week. Innovative short-term insurer MiWay sponsors the production and is closely involved in its planning. The television feature is but one element of the insurer’s MTB program that has been instrumental in advancing the sporting activity locally, growing participation and building a community of avid enthusiasts.
Carine Conradie-Haffejee, MiWay’s head of marketing and a member of the MiWayMTB team, says many of the enhancements originate from the mountain biking community. “Over the three years that we have been the proud sponsor of the series we have encouraged viewers to get involved with the series by providing feedback and submitting their ideas and suggestions. Our ultimate goal is to give viewers entertaining content, useful information on developments in the MTB market and access to the latest and greatest events.”
“With this in mind we have refreshed the look of the show. This includes changing the weekly line-up to include product reviews, an extended calendar feature that includes more in-depth info on upcoming events.”
Future plans also include adding inserts packed with ‘how-to’ advice and adding a series that informs viewers on how to make the transition from road to mountain bikes.
