Nology, a supplier of quality security-driven broadband, networking and communication solutions, has taken the strategic decision to split its project and distribution business units into separate companies with the formation of Nology Distribution Pty Ltd. Says Gregory Solz, the newly appointed MD of Nology Distribution: "With both project and distribution business units running under the same company banner using shared resources we were beginning to see a blurring of focus.
The formation of the channel component as a separate company will help to sharpen the focus of both lines of business and will provide greater clarity to our customers."
Nology Distribution will be an entirely separate legal entity within the Nology stable but will remain on Nology's premises in Pretoria with shared warehousing between the units. Staff of Nology Distribution will be dedicated to the company so there will no longer be shared resources between the project and channel divisions.
"The essence of the company will remain constant with the same high level of service that customers have come to expect from Nology," Solz says. "With greater focus we have enabled the distribution arm of the company to provide more defined internal roles, which will enable us to have resources dedicated 100% to our channel partners' business, which will in turn translate into better quality of service."
"The channel business unit at Nology has been in operation for the last three years and has been growing steadily, necessitating the split into a separate company. The challenges that we will face include growing the channel, expanding awareness and developing Nology Distribution as a whole into a well recognised national brand. We will continue our growth strategy by further developing strong partnerships with our distributor and their resellers whilst leveraging existing relationships with our vendors to grow our national footprint," he adds.
"We have expanded our base of operations to include a dedicated Cape Town branch to service the Western Cape area. The strategy for Nology Distribution and Nology as a whole going forward will be to increase our national presence into other provinces and to refine our unique selling proposition. We will also be looking to continuously improve our call centre support and merchandising and to provide the very best in dedicated technical resources to our channel partners, end users and retailers," Solz concludes.
