Situated in the heart of Johannesburg’s northern suburbs, Killarney Mall is set to unveil a new variety of dining, entertainment and shopping favourites in the New Year.
Food fundis can look forward to welcoming an enticing selection of eateries to the centre. Succulent steak house Jozi Grill, seafood favourites Ocean Basket and Italian cuisine maestro Pizza del Forno will be making a grand entry into the centre in 2011.
The centre, which is currently undergoing a facelift in order to house the exciting new Killarney CineCentre which is opening in March 2011, has secured these deals with top eateries and retailers to further enhance the centre’s vast offering.
“Centre Management has been hard at work dealing with the market interest shown for Killarney Mall and securing the optimum tenant mix for our shoppers,” says Debra Sharnock, Centre Manager of Killarney Mall. “The new Killarney CineCentre is set to open to much fanfare in the next few months, and shoppers can expect the finest in dining and shopping to join the cinema complex.”
These eateries will be joining the already established list of restaurants at the centre, including Joburg’s pioneering and recently revamped Mugg and Bean as well as the recently-opened Europa, which is fast becoming a firm favourite hot-spot in the area.
Other developments on the retail front include the new fashion stores Trendgetters and Pandora, which are offering fashionistas an eclectic mix of top international trends and unique pieces.
The main forthcoming attraction, the Killarney CineCentre, will boast the first full-3D cinema complex in the country with five screens totalling 708 seats. Owned by top South African company Avalon Group, the new complex will showcase a variety of Hollywood and Bollywood blockbusters.
“Along with our new offerings, firm favourites such as our Mzansi Market and our Organic and Wholesome Market are guaranteed to enhance and further our standpoint as one of Joburg’s leading shopping destinations,” concludes Sharnock.
The Office Towers at Killarney Mall have also undergone a recent renovation, and now boast stylish and modern offices which are also conveniently located near the Post Office, various banks and other amenities within the centre.
