One of South Africa’s leading family pizza franchises, Scooters Pizza, is delighted to celebrate 10 years of exceptional growth within the franchise industry. Since the first store inception in September 2000 in Westville, Durban, the Scooters Pizza brand has expanded to 128 stores nationwide.

CEO of Taste Holdings – Food Division, Christo Calitz, who has over 20 years experience in the food franchising industry expresses his satisfaction at Scooters Pizza’s latest milestone, “With a reputation of being known as the fastest growing pizza delivery chain in the country, Scooters Pizza will persist to expand in the imminent decades by learning from past successes and building on new experiences.”

Over the past few years, Scooters Pizza has continued to maintain its unique brand by introducing innovative food offerings to its customers, such as the South African first 40cm ‘Makhulu’ pizza, and offering existing and potential franchisees several opportunities. “One of our top priorities is franchisee profitability. Scooters Pizza capitalises on the vast experience and knowledge that its management has to offer and our overall marketing driven approach keeps Scooters Pizza ahead in our increasingly competitive industry,” says Calitz.

In honour of the 10 year milestone, Scooters Pizza has introduced the ‘Decade Double’ promotion, offering customers the pizza price of 10 years ago. The Hawaiian pizza, which has been a consistent item on their menu since Scooters Pizza’s establishment, is the focal point of the promotion, offering customers two large Hawaiian pizzas for only R59.95.

Scooters Pizza has won various Franchise Association of South Africa (FASA) awards namely: Newcomer Franchisor of the Year award in 2001, as well as walking away with the Brand Builder of the Year title in 2002, 2005, 2007 and that of finalist in 2009.

Calitz concludes that Scooters Pizza is confident that customers will react positively to the new ‘nostalgic’ promotion, and will continue to trust the brand in delivering Hot, Tasty and Fast quality food products.
