Travel: SAA Customers get additional flight to Sydney, Australia

South African Airways (SAA) customers will have access to an additional flight between Gauteng and Sydney, Australia as of 16 December 2008.
This brings the number of flights between the two cities to six in addition to the five SAA operates per week between Johannesburg and Sydney. SAA will now have a total of 11 operations per week serving both Perth and Sydney.
The flights to Sydney are operated by SAA’s codeshare partner on the route.
SA7700 will depart Johannesburg at 17.50pm every Tuesday, arriving in Sydney at 14.35pm the following day.
SA7701 will depart each Tuesday from Sydney at 10.30 am, arriving in Johannesburg at 15.30pm the same day.
As of 7 February 2009, the flight will change to operate every Saturday as opposed to Tuesdays.
The additional flight will help meet increased demand for seats being experienced by the airline on the Australian route.
“We are seeing great interest in Australia and New Zealand as tourist destinations and business between both countries grows from year to year. SAA will also add additional capacity on its route to and from Perth with the introduction of its flagship aircraft – the Airbus A340-600 at the end of this month. The increase in the number of seats will also help business class passengers from Gauteng to experience SAA’s award winning lie flat seats. The airbus A340-600 has 42 lie flat seats.
