HR: Innovative Employeee Assistance
Recent Gauteng Business News
The Tognum Group company MTU South Africa (PTY) Ltd, supplier of engines, complete propulsion and power systems in southern Africa is introducing an employee emergency assistance fund which will assist employees with personal emergencies.
The management team of MTU South Africa pioneered this initiative and will be assisting their co-workers from their own funds rather than the companies’ resources. The employee emergency assistance fund aims to assist employees that earn less than R15, 000.00 a month with emergencies. The committee for the employee emergency assistance fund will consist of members from the management team as well as two employee representatives.
“We value our employees and their invaluable contribution and dedication to MTU South Africa. The company supports the management team in this endeavor in implementing the employee emergency assistance fund,” says Michael Baumann, Managing Director of MTU SA.
The management of MTU SA realises that, for the company to retain enthusiastic and loyal employees, it is important to reward employees with benefits that make their life at work more satisfying. “As the management of MTU South Africa, we became aware of some of the difficulties that our co-workers experienced and from this, we formed this fund to help them during difficult times and unforeseen circumstances,” says Peter Laubscher, Chairperson of MTU South Africa Employee Emergency Assistance Fund.
The employee emergency assistance fund will be helpful for employees in times of personal grief or emergencies, as in most cases it is challenging to get assistance on short notice or at all. These benefits will make working at MTU South Africa an enjoyable experience.
