TRAINING: Simba Roars Into Skills Development
Recent Gauteng Business News
BizzPro, an authorised education provider (AEP) for SAPICS (The Association for Operations Management of Southern Africa), was recently selected by Simba to run a skills development programme at its Isando operation.
Reflecting the value and relevance of the SAPICS supply chain education programmes, the association's PPIM (Principles of Production and Inventory Management) was chosen by Simba as the preferred course for its trainee management staff, who converged at Isando from all over the country for the training.
BizzPro MD Greta McNiven elaborates: "This was a great opportunity for BizzPro, but we had to overcome a couple of challenges, not least of which was working around a narrow window period in which Simba's trainee management staff from plants throughout the country would be together for training. BizzPro had to use this window of opportunity to fit in the PPIM training before they went back to their provinces."
The class - run by SAPICS's award winning lecturer Burnie Adonis - had to be intensified in order to ensure it was finished in time. “Burnie did a superb job in the face of the time pressure, and the Simba students rose to the challenge exceptionally well," Greta adds.
All Simba's candidates passed the course and Greta notes that Mantoe Lucas Bopape achieved a distinction. "A big thank you to Simba for the opportunity to do this training and contribute to the development of talent at Simba," she concludes.
