Local provider of quality machine tool solutions Elquip Solutions has reached an agreement with French machine tools manufacturer Vernet-Behringer to distribute its products in South Africa.
Vernet-Behringer specialises in the design and manufacture of machine tools, installations, complete lines and software. The company’s products and services are dedicated to the structural steel and fabrication sector.
Elquip Solutions CEO Mike Cronin says that the demand in steel construction and fabrication in South Africa has seen a rise in the demand for new machines emerging.
“Vernet-Behringer has channelled research and development into specialist drilling and sawing machines, which are extensively used in the structural steel and fabrication sector. The company has achieved major breakthroughs in welded section machining,” he adds.
One of Vernet-Behringer’s trademark products is its HD drilling-sawing machine with a usable section of 1800x600mm. The machine has been especially adapted to work with welded beams, and includes special options which are electrically adjustable in both Y and Z axes. In addition, the machine can be equipped with all ‘normal’ options, such as microsprays.
Cronin notes that customers will appreciate Vernet-Behringer’s products for their ease of operation, low maintenance costs and outstanding reliability regardless of operating environments. Products include beam lines, angle lines and plate lines.
Vernet-Behringer’s inception was in 1995, when they joined forces with Behringer GMBH, a leader in metal sawing technology. Today, the company has a large global reach with distributors in countries such as China, France, Germany and the USA, and now in South Africa too.
“Elquip Solutions is pleased to welcome Vernet-Behringer on board, as its ethos is aligned with our own in that we both wish to translate clients’ needs into the manufacturing process, optimise operations and maintain a strong relationship after the sale,” he concludes.
